The biggest dogs in the world come from the English Mastiff breed. Although, The Great Dane and Irish Wolfhound are taller, they are also slimmer and don’t weigh as much, so the title of the biggest dog in the world is held by English Mastiff, or just Mastiff as they usually call this breed of dogs. The biggest one, according to the Guinness Book of Records was Zorba. He was weighing 156 kg, 94 cm high at the shoulders (this is how you measure dogs height) and 251 cm long from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail. Typically, English Mastifs are between 69 and 110 kg for the males and 55 to 91 kg for the females. Height is minimum 76 cm for the males and 70 cm for the females. Comparing this figures with figures that are provided by American Kennel Club fo r other breeds can tell you just how really big was Zorba.
